Motivational Monday - Bonus Episode "The Power of Prevention"
Monday Nov 24, 2025
Monday Nov 24, 2025
Family, I had to come back with a bonus episode because my heart needed to say something, and I couldn't wait until Wednesday to say it.
Over the last couple of months, my father has been battling serious health challenges, and I want to start by saying THANK YOU. The love, the support, the prayers, the kind words that have come my way during this time—it means EVERYTHING. You lift me up. You lift this show up. And together, we're building something real.
But this bonus episode isn't just about gratitude—it's about something critical that I need you to hear: GO GET CHECKED OUT. Don't ignore what your body is telling you. Don't put off that appointment. Don't hope it goes away. My father is here today because he followed up on the signs his body was giving him. Early detection changed everything. And I know so many of you are fighting something right now—don't fight it alone, and don't fight it by ignoring it. Get the help. Get the check-up. Take action.
I also want to send a special message to my cousin who's listening right now—keep fighting. Keep pushing. You've got the corner's support, and more importantly, you've got God's strength.
Now, as we head into this season of celebration—Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year—I want to talk about something that seems simple but is absolutely CRITICAL: Stay hydrated. Stay moving. Stay conscious of what you're eating. Start your day with water before anything else. Walk. Work out. Don't abandon your health routine just because it's the holidays. You can celebrate AND take care of yourself. You can enjoy the food AND drink the water. It's not either-or—it's BOTH.
Health is wealth, family. It's not selfish to take care of yourself—it's essential. It's the greatest investment you can make. Be there for your family, be there for your community, be there for yourself by staying on top of your health.
And hey—we're also expanding! Cousin Ed's Corner is now on YouTube with behind-the-scenes footage and video content coming your way. Subscribe there, stay connected on Spotify, Amazon, wherever you listen. Multiple ways to connect, multiple ways to grow.
If you want to reach out, call or text me at 762-333-2032 or leave a voicemail at CousinEdsCorner.com. I love you all. I'm grateful for you all. And I'm committed to showing up for this community.
Now go drink some water, schedule that health check-up, and keep taking care of that beautiful body of yours.
Cousin Ed's Corner: Health, Gratitude, and Community. That's what we do here.

Motivational Monday - Reclaiming Your Peace During the Holiday Season
Monday Nov 24, 2025
Monday Nov 24, 2025
In today's episode, we're diving into the power of gratitude, but not the surface-level kind. We're talking about recognizing the blessings that are already in your life, even when social media is screaming that YOU'RE NOT ENOUGH.
Here's the truth: You have breath in your body. You have a right mind. You have your spirit. Everything beyond that is bonus—and I mean that. After spending over a month in the hospital with my father I have a new perspective on things. I witnessed real struggle up close, and it shifted everything I thought about gratitude. Some people are fighting battles we can't even imagine. And here we are, blessed beyond measure, maybe just missing it because we're too busy looking at someone else's highlight reel.
But this isn't just about gratitude—it's about ACTION. It's about giving back during this season. When you donate clothes, books, your time, your love to someone who needs it more than you do, something magical happens. That generosity waters not just their plant, but your own. That's real. And it's powerful.
And for those of you feeling alone right now. For those of you without the family gathering you wish you had, without the financial abundance, without the so called picture-perfect holiday? I want you to know something: You are loved. If no one else loves you today, God loves you. And Cousin Ed loves you too. Look in the mirror and say it: "I love myself."
This episode came straight from the heart, straight from what I know and also wanting to keep it real with you. No scripts, no perfection—just family talking to family. This is what Cousin Ed's Corner is all about: authentic conversations that remind you of your worth, your power, and your blessing.
Tap in now: https://linktr.ee/cousinedscorner
Drop a comment and tell me—what's one blessing you've been taking for granted? How have you learned to give back even when you're struggling? Let's build this community together, because that's what we do here. We remind each other that we're not alone, that we're enough, and that our stories matter.
Share this with someone who needs to hear that they're loved. Send it to that friend who's been struggling. Tag someone who needs this reminder. Let's spread the love the way it's meant to be spread.

Financial Freedom Fridays - What Every Young Adult Needs To Know
Friday Nov 21, 2025
Friday Nov 21, 2025
On today's episode, I'm breaking down a real-life scenario: I recently met two young professionals—one with a financial mentor and one without—and they're BOTH leaving FREE money on the table by not maximizing their 401(k) matching. This episode is about changing that narrative for YOU and your family.
We're unpacking the FIVE ESSENTIAL ACCOUNTS every person needs to know about: ✅ High-Yield Savings Accounts (Watch your money actually GROW) ✅ 401(k) Matching (That's FREE MONEY from your employer!) ✅ Brokerage Accounts (Your gateway to the stock market) ✅ Roth IRAs (Tax-free wealth building) ✅ 529 Plans (Investing in your kids' futures)
But here's what makes this episode DIFFERENT—we're keeping it SIMPLE. Real talk, no financial jargon, and ACTIONABLE STEPS. Whether you have $5 or $5,000, there's a path for YOU to start investing TODAY. Remember, if you drive a Ford, invest in Ford. If you love Starbucks, buy Starbucks stock. Invest in what you USE and what you SEE.
This isn't just about making pennies on the dollar—it's about building generational wealth, one smart decision at a time. It's about having someone in your corner who believes in your financial freedom. IT'S ABOUT YOU.

The Corner Connection - Why 500 Episodes Means More Than Numbers
Monday Nov 17, 2025
Monday Nov 17, 2025
🚨 MILESTONE MOMENT ALERT 🚨: We've officially reached 500 EPISODES of Cousin Ed's Corner! 🎉🎤 This isn't just another number – this is a movement, a community, a family that's been showing up week after week, year after year.
In this special episode, I'm taking you behind the scenes of how it all started. From collaborating with Mr. Moody and DJ Naturell back in 2012 on "Mr. Moody's Neighborhood," to Taralyn Michelle looking me dead in the eye and saying, "Cousin Ed, you're wasting your talent" – every moment led to THIS. We built a NETWORK. From one segment to three shows a week. From doubt to determination. From 300 episodes where I almost quit, to 500 where I'm standing here grateful and energized.
But here's what really moved me: During my father's major surgeries, sitting in hospital rooms late at night, my dad told me, "Keep recording. Keep pushing." That's the kind of real family support that fuels a movement like this. And it taught me something powerful – consistency matters more than perfection. Showing up matters. Staying true to your purpose matters, even when the numbers don't immediately reflect your impact.
The REAL metrics? The text messages I get from strangers saying, "Your episode saved my life." The cards and gifts from listeners I've never physically met but who feel like family. People recognizing me in public with tears in their eyes thanking me for being part of their journey. THAT'S what 500 episodes means. Not just a podcast – it's a life-changing movement built on authenticity, gratitude, and the belief that we're all in this together.
From Monday Motivation to Wind Down Wednesday to Thank God for Everything Friday – from Financial Freedom Friday to When My Sister Wins – you've been here. YOU made 500 episodes possible. And I want to invite you to keep building with me.
Tap in and Celebrate : https://linktr.ee/cousinedscorner
Drop a comment right now telling me about a Cousin Ed's Corner episode that touched your life or changed your perspective. Better yet, share this milestone episode with someone who's struggling to stay consistent in their own journey. Someone who's questioning whether their voice matters. Someone who's on the edge of giving up. Show them this is possible when you believe in yourself and stay COMMITTED.

Thank God For Everything (TGIF) -The MOST HIGH is Real
Friday Nov 14, 2025
Friday Nov 14, 2025
On today's episode, we're diving DEEP into faith, gratitude, and what it really means to have an authentic spiritual connection with the MOST HIGH.
The church is suppose to teach us love, but sometimes the people in it don't practice it. This episode is about acceptance, breaking free from judgment, and reclaiming YOUR spiritual journey on YOUR terms. We're talking about why God doesn't need a loudspeaker when He's already speaking to you through your inner voice—your intuition, your conscience, your gut feeling.
This isn't just church talk. This is about recognizing the MOST HIGH protection in your everyday life, understanding how to navigate life's obstacles, and remembering that when you can't walk, the MOST HIGH is your cane. When you can't think, the MOST HIGH is your mind. When you can't heal, the MOST HIGH is your doctor in the room.
We're sharing powerful analogies, real conversations about spirituality vs. religion, and why it's time to stop letting people put you in boxes. Whether you call it God, Allah, Buddha, or the Most High—this episode is about connecting with that higher power AUTHENTICALLY.
The message is simple: Love one another. Love yourself. And know that you are worthy, you are seen, and you are loved.

The Championship Mindset: Why Playing The Coaches Role Is So Important To You And Others
Wednesday Nov 12, 2025
Wednesday Nov 12, 2025
In this episode, we're exploring one of life's most powerful and often overlooked roles—being a COACH. Today, we're breaking down why coaching isn't just about sports or business—it's about every single relationship you have. Whether you're a parent, spouse, friend, leader, or mentor, you're playing the coaching role whether you know it or not.
We're diving into what separates great coaches from good ones. I'm sharing a raw, personal story about being a young, naive freshman basketball player who got dunked on by a senior. My coach didn't just let it slide—he built ME up. He set consequences that meant something. He lined up every big man on the team and made me stop each and every one of them. That wasn't just about basketball—that was about a mindset that was preparing me for LIFE. That was about building resilience for the inevitable moments when heartbreak, job loss, rejection, and adversity come charging down the lane at full speed.
This is about LEGACY. It's about grooming your kids to value what you value. It's about inspiring your spouse, developing your team, mentoring your friends, and showing people what's possible before they ever have to ask. Are you coaching people up to believe they can go against ANYBODY, no matter what the world tells them? Are you helping others find the confidence within themselves? That's the real coaching game right now -- BUILDING A CHAMPIONSHIP MINDSET.
We're also diving into the different levels of coaching—personal, relational, professional. We're exploring how this connects to our mini-series on life roles: the GM, the Coach, the Player, the Cheerleader, the Fan. Each one matters. Each one has a season. Each one has a purpose.
Tap in to discover which role you're meant to dominate and which one needs your attention NOW: https://linktr.ee/cousinedscorner
Drop a comment about who coached YOU up in life. Who showed you that you could run through a wall? Who believed in you before you believed in yourself? And let me know—are you coaching someone in YOUR life right now? Are you building champions, or are you sitting on the sideline? Let's keep this conversation going. Your feedback matters. SHARE this episode with someone who needs to hear that they have what it takes to face anything life throws at them.

Monday Nov 10, 2025
On today's episode, we're diving DEEP into one of the most transformational concepts that's shaped my entire journey: becoming the GM (General Manager) of YOUR life.
Real talk—most of us are out here playing like we're just a player on the team, standing on the sidelines as a cheerleader, or not even showing up to the game at all. But that STOPS TODAY. We're talking about stepping into the owner's box. We're talking about strategic planning, intentional leadership, and running your LIFE like a business that absolutely CANNOT fail. 💼
In this upcoming series I will be breaking down:
✅ Why you can't just "show up" and expect championship results
✅ The difference between being a player, cheerleader, coach, and GM
✅ How to build your game day plan, monthly plan, yearly vision, and 5-10 year strategy
✅ How to prepare for EVERYTHING—opposition, loss, change, challenges
✅ The exact planning framework that transformed my life from sports to corporate to personal success
This is the FIRST episode in an entire series we're launching where we explore every position you play in life. But today, we're starting at the TOP with YOU as the ultimate leader of your own team.

Friday Nov 07, 2025
In this episode, we're breaking down the intersection of faith and ACTION, dreams and PREPARATION, and MEntorship that CHANGES LIVES.
I had a real conversation with a young man who was whispering his dreams instead of declaring them. He kept saying "God Got Me," but here's what I learned: God's got you, but you gotta MOVE. 🎯
This isn't just about one young man—this is about ALL OF US. Whether you're figuring out your path, raising young people, or trying to mentor others, this episode speaks to YOU. We're talking about:
✨ Why "school ain't for everybody, but learning is for everybody" ✨ The Back Pocket Rule - always being prepared for opportunity ✨ How mentorship changed MY life (shout out to Mr. Bradley and Ernest Watson) ✨ Why your elders are "flashing their lights" to warn you about the potholes ahead ✨ The power of saying YES when you don't know where it leads

How to Release What You've Been Carrying
Wednesday Nov 05, 2025
Wednesday Nov 05, 2025
In this episode, we're talking about the real meaning of health and wellness in our community. We're not just hitting the gym and calling it a day. We're talking about managing the responsibility stress that's silently wearing us down, recognizing what drains us, and—most importantly—finding YOUR personal way to release that weight. From my big brother's hospital visit due to stress overload to my own journey with wellness, this episode is REAL.
I'm also sharing strategies that actually work: finding peace through "cutting corners," investing in stress relief (because your health is worth the money), and understanding that true wellness touches every part of your life—mental, physical, spiritual, and relational.
If you've ever felt like you're carrying too much, if work is draining you, if you don't know how to release what you've been holding onto, THIS IS YOUR SIGN. Your community needs you healthy. Your family needs you whole. And taking care of yourself isn't selfish—it's ESSENTIAL. I'm sharing this therapy session with you because that's what Cousin Ed's Corner is all about—real talk, real solutions, and real love for OUR people.

Motivational Monday - Thanking God For The PRAYER WARRIORS
Monday Nov 03, 2025
Monday Nov 03, 2025
In this episode, I'm diving deep into the POWER OF YOUR INVISIBLE PRAYER WARRIORS and why we are NEVER truly alone—even when it feels so alone.
Just came off a prayer call with my church back in Brooklyn where my father shared an incredible testimony about perspective shift and resilience. He went through something real these last couple of weeks, but watching him step back up and lead our men's group prayer call? That's what I'm talking about—FAITH IN ACTION.
Here's what hit me: There are people praying for you RIGHT NOW that you don't even know about. Church Mothers, Deacons, and Old family members. That coworker who heard you crying in the bathroom. That stranger who saw you break down in your car. They're all lifting you up and praying for you. 🙏
We talk about shifting from "why me?" to recognizing your BLESSINGS. We dive into the principle of never forgetting "The Least of Thee" and why sometimes a prayer is the most powerful gift you can offer. We break down why God cares about what's IN YOUR HEART more than what you can physically give.
This is about COMMUNITY. This is about our walk in FAITH. This is about understanding that you've got an entire prayer circle working for you 24/7.

In this episode, we're discussing GENEROSITY, COMMUNITY, FAITH, and how KINDNESS moves mountains. Listen, as I was on IG today, I got inspired by a young brother from the Bronx, Romeo Bartley Jr., who's out here changing lives one act of kindness at a time. If you haven't seen his work yet, head to Instagram and follow @romeobartleyjr. His vision will inspire you to DO something.
I'm breaking down the REAL, PRACTICAL ways YOU can help—starting TODAY. Buy someone a coffee. Fill up a stranger's gas tank. Support Meals on Wheels. Donate to relief. And here's the spiritual truth that'll shift your whole perspective: When you sow a seed, you reap a harvest TENFOLD. That's not just motivation, that's LAW. Romeo's living proof.
Real talk? We're living through tough times. Families are choosing between medicine, food, gas, and daycare. The government's struggling. People are hurting. And that's exactly why THIS message matters NOW. We gotta do more for each other. Not because Instagram told us to. Not because it looks good. Because it's RIGHT. Because we're FAMILY. Because Romeo's showing us what's POSSIBLE when one person decides to serve.

In this episode, we're diving deep into what truly matters—showing up for each other in the fight against cancer. This Breast Cancer Awareness Month, I'm bringing you real conversations about resilience, support, and why health screening isn't optional. I'm sharing personal stories about losing family members to cancer, celebrating the incredible strength of survivors, and breaking down why everyone—men and women—needs to prioritize their health.
This isn't just about statistics or awareness campaigns. It's about the warriors in our community fighting this battle every single day, and how we can show up for them. From wearing pink to attending chemotherapy appointments, from getting regular mammograms to checking ourselves for changes—every action matters. I'm also shining a light on the incredible work of organizations like Susan G. Komen Foundation who are leading the charge in research and advocacy.

Motivational Monday - There's Nothing Wrong With Being Different.
Monday Oct 27, 2025
Monday Oct 27, 2025
In this episode, I'm breaking down why the people who are "different"—the ones who march to their own beat—are the ones I truly admire. Using a powerful parable about two dogs watching a bird fly solo in the sky (one sees freedom, one sees loneliness), we're exploring how perspective changes EVERYTHING.
Here's the truth: Society teaches us to fit in from the moment we're born. Stand in line. Follow the rules. Do what everyone else is doing. But what if I told you that TRUE FREEDOM comes when you stop worrying about what other people think and start celebrating who you REALLY are?
I'm also talk about what I'm teaching my daughter, my high school senior navigating this crazy world. To every young person feeling like an outcast or wondering if you're "too different"—THIS EPISODE IS FOR YOU. Your uniqueness isn't a flaw; it's your SUPERPOWER. 💪🏾
Yes, you'll have critics. Yes, you'll have people who throw darts at your dreams. That's guaranteed. But when you're living your truth and giving more love than hate to this world? You become a beacon of hope for others.

Friday Oct 24, 2025
Friday Oct 24, 2025
In Today's Episode, I'm diving deep into the power of divine intuition and what it means to listen when God nudges you to act. I'm sharing my incredible encounter with a woman I met in a parking lot who was living in her car. And let me tell you—this wasn't just about helping a stranger. This was about recognizing that God speaks to us through that still, small voice inside, and when we answer that call, blessings multiply in ways we never expect. I was rushing. I had work calls stacked up, my dad had a serious medical appointment I couldn't miss, and every logical reason told me to keep driving. But something—no, SOMEONE—told me to turn that truck around.
What happened next changed everything. This isn't just another feel-good story. This is about recognizing that God speaks to us through that still, small voice inside, and when we actually LISTEN and respond, blessings multiply in ways we never expect. I'm talking about trusting GOD. I'm talking about doing the RIGHT THING even when it's inconvenient. I'm talking about faith in ACTION, not just in words.
Remember, when I listen to my heart and trust God's guidance? Everything works out. I'm sharing this episode because I need YOU to know something: judgment-free compassion matters. Your intuition matters. And doing the RIGHT THING—even when it costs you, even when it's inconvenient, even when fear tries to tell you it's a scam—that's what separates faith from just talking about faith.

Wind Down Wednesday - Make Time For YOU Before You Burn Out!
Wednesday Oct 22, 2025
Wednesday Oct 22, 2025
In this episode, we're diving deep into that pressure we all feel to constantly produce, constantly show up, constantly deliver. Whether it's your 9-to-5, your passion project, your side hustle, or your family—there's this voice saying you can NEVER slow down. Over the past few weeks, I stepped away to handle what mattered most—my family, my health, my sanity. And while I was out, I learned something powerful: sometimes the most loving thing you can do for yourself AND the people you serve is to REST.
One of the key things that I've learned is that when you're working from pressure instead of purpose, EVERYTHING starts to suffer. Your quality drops. Your authenticity disappears. The LOVE that started it all gets buried under obligation.
This isn't just about me taking a break. This is about YOU understanding that rest isn't laziness—it's STRATEGIC. It's POWERFUL. It's NECESSARY. I'm breaking down practical ways you can unwind this weekend, how to recognize when you're running on empty before crisis hits, and why choosing your rest NOW is the strongest move you can make.
Your family needs your present, not just present in body. Your passion and Your purpose don't want burned-out from an empty tank—they want AUTHENTIC self. Your dreams need you to be focused, not fractured.
Let's talk about this. Tap in and listen: https://linktr.ee/cousinedscorner
Drop a comment and tell me: What does unwinding look like for YOU? What's one thing you're going to do THIS WEEKEND to reclaim your peace? And PLEASE—share this episode with someone who needs permission to REST. We're building a movement here, not just a podcast. A movement where authenticity and self-care go HAND IN HAND. 💪🏾
Connect with Cousin Ed: 762-333-2032 or @CousinEdsCorner on all platforms. This is more than motivation—we're LIVING it. Share this with someone who's forgotten that their peace is WORTH protecting. Your rest is your resistance. Your peace is your power. 👑

Motivational Monday - The Other Side of Through
Monday Oct 20, 2025
Monday Oct 20, 2025
In today's Motivational Monday episode, we're back and this one is POWERFUL. I'm opening with something that moved my entire soul—a sermon from Rev. Aisha Taylor-Issah on "The Other Side of Through" that will transform how you see your STRUGGLES, your SURVIVAL, and your FAITH.
Aisha breaks down Psalm 23 like you've never heard it before, unpacking what it REALLY means to be blessed and highly favored, and celebrating every single person who has been through something and made it to the other side. This is more than motivation—this is a testament to your resilience, your faith, and your warrior spirit.
For those of you that may not have heard from me the last three weeks, I was walking through a valley that I never expected. My father was hospitalized, and those days tested everything in me. But through it all, I discovered something revolutionary: God doesn't just protect us around our struggles—He carries us THROUGH them. And when you make it to the other side, you realize you've been blessed and highly favored the entire time.
This isn't just MY story—it's YOUR story too. WE ARE ALL SURVIVORS. Whether you've lost a job, fought through financial hardship, watched a relationship crumble, faced a health crisis, or any of the valleys we walk through, this episode is here to remind you: You survived. God brought you through. And your survival is worth celebrating.

Your story matters. Your survival matters. Your faith matters. Let's keep building and celebrating our authentic journeys together—because we're all on this journey, and we're all blessed and highly favored. 👑
Cousin Ed's Corner isn't just about motivation—we're LIVING it. We're celebrating survival (Special thanks to. Rev. Aisha Taylor-Issah). We're honoring faith. We're building community. Share this with someone today! 🙏🏾

In today's episode, we’re reflecting on the true power of gratitude, faith, and community. Today, I’m joined once again by my father as we celebrate a monumental milestone—his return home after weeks of uncertainty, two planned procedures, and an incredible outpouring of support from so many caring hands.
In this heartfelt conversation, we lay bare the ways faith has carried us through both the darkest and brightest moments. We give thanks for the countless nurses, doctors, techs, nutritionists, drivers, and every single person who stepped into our journey and made a difference. We celebrate not only recovery, but also the resilience of the human spirit, the warmth of family, and the hands of God guiding us at every turn.
We’re taking it back to the basics—thanking God not just for Friday but for every moment, every breath, and every blessing. This is an episode about recognizing how truly fortunate we are, especially when we realize that the things we often take for granted are blessings so many others pray for daily. We get real about gratitude, vulnerability, and the importance of leaning on each other—whether times are good or bad.

The Return Of Cousin Ed’s Corner????
Sunday Oct 12, 2025

In this deeply personal episode, I'm pulling back the curtain on the last three weeks of my life—the first break I've taken in FOUR YEARS of bringing you consistent content. This isn't about excuses; it's about US, our humanity, and what happens when life demands that we show up differently than we planned. Sometimes stepping away is the strongest thing you can do. As my father underwent two major surgeries that led to three weeks of complications, hospital stays, and some of the scariest moments I've ever experienced. I stayed by his bedside every single night, and in doing so, I ran from the very therapy this podcast provides me. I recorded shows that never felt right to release. I tried to maintain consistency while my world was shaking. But I learned something powerful: authenticity will always matter more than anything else, and sometimes the most important content is explaining why there wasn't content.
This episode is my thank you letter to every single person who sent prayers, texts, DMs, cards, flowers, and positive energy during this time. You became the battery in my back when mine was running on empty. I'm sharing what it feels like to miss your purpose, to feel things unwinding, and to have the courage to step back and recoup. I'm also talking about this morning's lesson—when I went looking for a peaceful park for my Sunday meditation and had to choose wisdom over content when the situation didn't feel safe.

In this episode, we're exploring the raw power of resilience and what it truly means to fight for yourself. Today, I'm sharing how my 78-year-old father is still teaching me life lessons from his hospital bed during two major surgeries. This isn't just about recovery - it's about our inner strength, and how the people we love can teach us lessons we never saw coming.
Remember when someone showed you what real strength looks like? I'm sharing how watching my dad insist on feeding himself, moving his legs, and staying mentally sharp while in pain completely transformed my understanding of resilience. Sometimes the most powerful lessons come from the people closest to us when we least expect it.
This episode will change how you approach your own challenges and remind you that sometimes "it's only you" who can fight your battles - but you don't have to do it alone.
